We’ve been awarded a Hidden Gem!

By 16 February 2017April 21st, 2023No Comments

Staff and volunteers here at the museum are celebrating after picking up the national accolade called ‘Hidden Gem’ for the exceptional experience given to our visitors.

We have been recognised as a ‘Hidden Gem’ by the tourist board for England. The Visit England accolade, part of their Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme, recognises outstanding attractions who go the extra mile to create an enjoyable and memorable visit. Something we pride ourselves on doing.

It is a great honour to be recognised for the second time as a Hidden Gem and is testament to the hard work of our staff and volunteers.

We first gained this recognition in 2014 when the award was a brand new accolade! Visit England review their attractions once every two years so this is the second time we have gained it.

It is a credit to the great team of staff and volunteers who work so hard, and to such high standards, in welcoming all our wonderful visitors to this very special 200 year old building and the Quaker Tapestry Museum.

The Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme is managed by Visit England and, through its network of regional assessors, boasts an incredible reputation for instigating, modifying and shaping change to the customer experience at visitor attractions across England.

The scheme encourages participants to make the Scheme work for them as a management tool.

Industry support has been consistently strong with participants eager to take on board the recommendations of their local assessor.
