Unemployment

This panel depicts some of the many ways in which Quakers tried to address poverty and unemployment in the twentieth century. Maes-yr-haf was a social and educational centre and Bryn Mawr a co-operative, both set up in South Wales in 1920s and 30s. In the 1980s Friends worked with churches and other agencies to set up counselling centres for people looking for work.
