The Leaveners was the name of the Quaker Youth Theatre group which began in 1978. Across the country the Leaveners put on a variety of dramatic and musical performances. Sometimes these were on Quaker themes, often about conflict resolution – sometimes abroad and often in the street. The vibrancy of the panel reflects the creative spirit behind the project. In 2017 the trustees of The Leaveners decided that it was no longer viable to continue but The Leaveners Experimental Arts Project (LEAP) is now the UK’s national specialist in the field of youth and conflict, dedicated to delivering relevant, high-quality training that is sustainable and delivers high impact.
