How your money supports us

Did you know that we’re a registered charity as well as a visitor attraction?

We use money raised from visits, the shop, membership and donations to continue our work. This helps us in preserving the community embroidery and in sharing the stories, history and stitches for all to enjoy.

Your Donation Directly Supports the Work of the Quaker Tapestry

As well as the ongoing preservation and exhibition of the Tapestry, your donation helps us to develop new subsidiary exhibitions,  take the Tapestry on tour, as well as educational work, publications, conservation activities and volunteer support.

Our most recent project and appeal for funds…

Every donation, large or small, is important to us, so thank you for considering making a donation to the Quaker Tapestry.

Don’t forget to Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, please Gift Aid your donation (simply tick the box on our donation form or let us know when you donate). This allows us to claim a further 25p from HMRC on every pound you donate at no extra cost to you.

For example, if you donate £50, the Quaker Tapestry receives £62.50. Please make sure you complete the Gift Aid section on the donation form. UK taxpayers can also give tax-effectively through the Charities Aid Foundation.

We are very thankful for the generous donations of our members, supporters and charitable trusts for their contributions towards our work.

“An extraordinary history starting in the Lake District in 1652, founding banks, chocolate companies, building railways, establishing Pennsylvania, chatting with Russian Czars and Turkish Sultans.”

Who would have thought Quakers would be so interesting!
