Train Greetings Card

Send a little bit of stitched beauty with our Train card design.

The detail of the Quaker Tapestry, and its inspired embroidery designs, reproduces beautifully in our cards.

Bridget Guest, designer of the train embroidery, says…

“Inspired by the’ Quakers and Railways’ display at the Quaker Tapestry Exhibition in 2010. It celebrated the input of Quakers into the development of the railway system. This is one of the tank engines designed in 1898 by Wilson Worsdell. A member of the Quaker Worsdell family, who over three generations, were involved with railways. Wilson, who was at the time Chief Mechanical Engineer of the North Eastern Railway, developed it from one of his brother Thomas’s earlier designs. 113 engines of this class were built over a period of 54 years, 28 of them by British Railways between 1949 and 1951; a sure testament to the excellence of Thomas and Wilson’s original designs”
