Quaker Tapestry Calendar 2020
Quaker Tapestry Calendar 2020 features 12 postcards showing images from the Quaker Tapestry
Calendar size 170mm x 325mm with wiro binding top including hanging hook with 12 tear-off colourful postcards and informative text.
The 2020 Quaker Tapestry Calendar features twelve popular panels. The text accompanying each months image is taken from Ann Nichols (1922-2017) insights into the Quaker Tapestry. For over 30 years, from the early 1980s, Ann was one of the four teachers who taught the embroidery stitches and techniques to thousands of people in many parts of the world. Ann was a superb storyteller, teacher, enthusiast and ambassador for the Quaker Tapestry. She was also a great peace maker, gently stepping into the middle of any minor disagreement to bring calm. Ann gave explanations of the story depicted in each panel and of the stitches used to embroider it.
The 12 panels selected for 2020 span the lifetime of Quakerism from the convincement of George Fox in 1647 to the World Family of Friends, including: prominent Quaker woman, innocent trades, improved public health, industrial welfare, science, banking and education.
The selection was compiled by Vanessa Eaves, Communications Officer, Quaker Tapestry Museum, on behalf of the Publication and Communications Committee.
