The Garden Cafe
‘The Garden Cafe and Takeaway’ at the Quaker Tapestry Museum
We are closed due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Nikki and Bryan, The Garden Cafe owners, have a passion for plant based food and for sourcing local supplies… such as speciality breads, coffee, fresh fruit and veg and not forgetting delicious dairy-free ‘nice’ cream!
A dab hand in the kitchen, Nikki cooks up wonderful homemade soups, flat breads, sausage rolls (renowned in the local area!) and crepes. Her dishes always use ingredients that are in season, the result being a varied menu that includes daily specials to tempt you, including gluten free options.
Bryan and son Rory make the most delicious, light and airy cakes such as Victoria sponge, chocolate, and lemon cake – their Bakewell tart has to be tasted to be believed – heaven… on a plate!
”There’s a strong community feel and always a warm welcome”
”We loved the chocolate cake. Delicious!!”
”The pasties were scrumptious and so was the lemon drizzle! It also felt really good supporting a family run business with a zero waste ethos. We will definitely be back”
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Kendal, the Garden Cafe is a three minute walk from Kendal’s Market Square. A relaxing place to meet friends or colleagues, it’s open from 10am until 4pm, Tuesday to Friday. When the weather is good you can sit outside within earshot of the town bells, or sit on one of the benches in the Meeting House Peace Garden. Nikki is also offering a takeaway menu.
