There’s a strong community feel and always a warm welcome at The Courtyard Café

Ruth, the owner, has a passion for sourcing local supplies – sourdough breads,  coffee, meat and not forgetting delicious brownies to name a few.

Sam is a dab hand in the kitchen, producing some wonderful home-made soups, tagines and salads. His dishes always use ingredients that are in season, the result being a varied menu that includes many daily specials to tempt you.

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Kendal

The Cafe is, at most, a 5 minute walk from Market Square so we are hoping to tempt back our regular visitors plus new ones.

A relaxing place to meet friends or colleagues, it’s open from 9am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday. And when the weather is good you can sit outside within ear shot of the town bells. Ruth is also offering a take-out menu.

On Wednesdays and Saturdays Ruth or Sam visit Kendal’s historic market to buy the freshest produce in season.

The Courtyard Café is child friendly, dog friendly and worker friendly – offering a children’s corner, water for our four legged friends and free wifi.

There is a lovely community feel, with a book exchange, notice board of local events and even free coffee grounds for your compost!

So do come along and try it out and make it one of your regular café haunts.
