At the Manchester Conference in 1895, British Quakers began to realise they were paying too much attention to being Quakers rather than challenging the problems of the day. They reaffirmed the importance of everyone having a direct relation with the ‘Inward Light’. In acknowledging that “God’s truth is given for every age…” Quakers revise their book of ‘Quaker Faith and Practice’ every thirty years.
