John Bellers

George Fox realised that life as a Quaker had social implications. It was, however, John Bellers who made representation to parliament and Queen Anne on the wide range of social reform proposals shown on the panel. Unfortunately his ideas gained little support from the Quakers of his time, but his statement at the bottom of the panel still speaks to us today.
