The Friends Ambulance Unit (FAU) was set up in 1914 and 1,700 FAU members worked in civilian and military hospitals in France, on hospital ships, on ambulance trains, and in hospitals in England. In 1939 the Friends Ambulance Unit was revived and 1,300 members undertook civilian war relief work across the world. The bottom of the panel shows FAU work in Syria and the China Convoy in Szechuan.
