Annual Appeal for Donations

Our Annual Appeal for Donations was successful

Thank you for supporting our Annual Appeal for Donations. In 2015/16 these, along with grants from charitable trusts, made the new website possible and provided extra support for promotion and marketing. This helped more people find their way to us, especially at a time when some visitors thought Kendal might still be under water!

For 2017/18, our fundraising “shopping list” has two themes:

Reaching out and welcoming people in:

Replacing our introductory films

Exploring digital alternatives to our audio guides, including for use on roadshows and in more foreign languages.

Develop advertising and on-line shopping

Installation of automatic opening doors at the Stramongate entrance, a longer term objective.

Protecting the collection:

Creating an improved database of the extensive Quaker Tapestry collection of supplementary items.

Further work training the Care & Conservation Group volunteers to develop best practice.

Roof repairs and improved ventilation.

Repairs and improvements to the New Road windows have been completed recently.

We are very grateful to everyone who helps Quaker Tapestry grow and develop through donations and grants, and in so many other ways. Your donation will help us achieve our goals and ensure the longevity of the exhibition and collection.

“We were entranced not only by the Tapestry panels and the social history on display but also by the ambience of the Meeting House, the interpretation and information made available to us. It is a very good memory for us.”
