7th October 2022 – 8th October 2022

Robin two-day Embroidery Workshop, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October, 10am-4pm, £150

This little Robin embroidery captures the movement of the bird perfectly. The branch was inspired by the embellished tree trunk on the World Family of Friends tapestry panel. Winter was the inspiration for this kit but as Robins are around all year Bridget will show you how you can omit the snow if you wish and make the picture fit whatever season you like.

Immerse yourself in this exclusive two day workshop. Learn new skills and become absorbed and fascinated by this ancient art of narrative embroidery, with a modern twist.

Our workshops provide you with the six basic crewelwork stitches used within the Quaker Tapestry: Stem, Split, Chain, Quaker, Bayeux Point and Peking Knot.

In a relaxed and friendly environment our tutors will guide you through the stitches. Helping you work towards an embroidered picture to finish at home. You don’t need to have any experience in embroidery before you attend the workshop. For those of you who have done some stitching before, this is an opportunity to learn something new and refresh your skills.

Included in your workshop:

Stitch Kit – A full embroidery kit consisting of all the materials needed to create and finish a stitched picture. The kit includes: stitching guidelines, finishing tips, Woollen fabric and Calico cloth, crewel needles and Appletons crewel embroidery threads. We have done the preparation for you so we’ll be starting stitching straight away!

Equipment – There will be equipment available for you to use during the workshop.

Refreshments – Hot drinks and biscuits are ‘on-tap’ throughout the session and lunch is available to buy from our on-site Cafe.

FREE entry to the Quaker Tapestry Museum for all attendees on the days of the workshop.
