Quaker Tapestry at Kendal Wool Gathering
27th October 2018
Kendal Wool Gathering mixes demonstrations, activities and displays, all connected to the cloth on which the town’s wealth was built.
The Gathering is one of the big events in the area, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the country.
Quaker Tapestry Museum will be there.
See The Dunera Panel in production, for the Australian Quaker Tapestry. We’ll be on hand to answer questions about our work, our kits and our embroidery workshops.
Once again, a large number of exhibitors will be bringing huge varieties of goods including yarns, dyes, crafts, art, accessories, tools, felting, crochet, patterns, carpets, looms, spinning wheels and more! Outside there will be livestock, where you can meet different breeds of sheep and Llamas, whilst learning about the importance of sheep farming industry in the Lake District.
There’ll be walks, talks, demonstrations, Knit and Natter groups, some exhibitors giving demonstrations, some let you try your hand, but all are friendly, knowledgable and enthusiastic.
The venue once again this year is Kendal Leisure Centre, which is accessible, easy to find, with free parking. Entry is £3 for adults and free for children under the age of 16.
All in all a fantastically fun, educational and, above all, family-friendly festival!
Kendal Wool Gathering is a not-for-profit event, organised and run by volunteers.
