Plume Thistle Embroidery Workshop (Two Day)
24th July 2020 – 25th July 2020
Plume Thistle Embroidery Two-day Workshop, Friday and Saturday 24-25 July, 10am-4pm, £140
Growing here in Cumbria, the Plume Thistle is a thing of beauty to us and of great value to insects. These flowers are a favourite nectar source of butterflies and bumblebees. The seeds are eaten by small birds. We’ve even managed to find two new stitch techniques to perfectly convey the thistle’s contrasting textures.
Immerse yourself in this exclusive two day workshop learning two brand new stitches in good company. Make a weekend of it, using the summer days to explore this historic market town of Kendal or the picturesque National Park of The Lake District. Should you require somewhere to stay please see our local accommodation page
Learn new skills and become absorbed and fascinated by this ancient art of narrative embroidery, with a modern twist.
This workshop provides you with the six basic stitches used within the Quaker Tapestry: Stem, Split, Chain, Quaker, Bayeux Point, Peking Knot.
