The Quaker Tapestry Slide Talks – The Stories Behind the Stitches
There is a growing demand from a wide variety of groups across the country for invited speakers to give talks about the Quaker Tapestry. We have organised a countrywide network of experienced speakers, all of whom have had connections with the Quaker Tapestry for many years and who have a multitude of stories to tell about the tapestry itself, its conception and making and the characters and events portrayed in the panels.
The talks are illustrated with slides or PowerPoint presentations, and the speakers bring with them a selection of popular Tapestry books, postcards, greetings cards, bookmarks etc that are available for sale after the talk.
We try to meet the costs of the talks in the following ways:
- Fees – we ask for a minimum donation of £30 from smaller groups and up to £150 from larger groups.
- Expenses – our speakers give their time and expertise voluntarily, on behalf of the Quaker Tapestry, so we also ask that you reimburse their travelling expenses. Wherever possible we try to find you a speaker from your area. Expenses are usually in the region of £10 - £15.
