Donate to the Quaker Tapestry

The Quaker Tapestry is a registered charity and receives no funding from government, Central Quaker Funds or the Lottery.

Each year we endeavour to meet all the costs involved in preserving and exhibiting the Tapestry, so that it can continue to inspire and delight all those who would like to visit and learn more about the Quaker story. Part of our income comes from admissions, our shop and Tearoom, but these only cover around half of our costs and we are dependent on the generous donations of our members, supporters, charitable trusts and local bodies for the remainder. In order to continue our work in preserving the Tapestry and exhibiting it for future generations to enjoy, we rely on your generosity.

All donations go directly to support the work of the Quaker Tapestry.

As well as contributing to the ongoing preservation and exhibition of the Tapestry, your donation helps us to develop new subsidiary exhibitions, our annual Roadshows, educational work, publications, conservation activities and volunteer support.

Here are some of the ways you can make a donation to us

If you are a UK taxpayer, please Gift Aid your donation (simply tick the box on our donation form or let us know when you donate). This allows us to claim a further 28p from HMRC on every pound you donate at no extra cost to you. For example, if you donate £50, the Quaker Tapestry receives £64. Please make sure you complete the Gift Aid section on the donation form. UK taxpayers can also give tax-effectively through the Charities Aid Foundation.

  • Remember us in your Will

You may not have thought of including a gift to a museum in your Will, but the Quaker Tapestry is a charity and legacies form an important source of funding for our work - no gift is too large or small. With your support you can ensure that future generations enjoy the Tapestry as much as you have. You may feel that you would like to support us but have other priorities at the moment, in which case a legacy gift is an opportunity to make a lasting contribution with no immediate financial outlay. Leaving a legacy can also be tax-effective as gifts to charities are exempt from inheritance tax. If you are considering remembering the Quaker Tapestry in your Will and would like to request a copy of our legacy booklet please contact:  Jenny Smith, Funding Officer on 01539 722975
   or e mail jenny@quaker-tapestry.co.uk
We can also arrange for one of our trustees to talk to you about leaving a legacy to the Quaker Tapestry.

Every donation, large or small, is important to us. Thank you for considering making a donation to the Quaker Tapestry.
