Group Visits

We welcome groups to the Quaker Tapestry, and have special extras available for our group visitors. This page provides the answers to questions commonly asked by group visit organisers, to help you plan your day at the Quaker Tapestry. What do we offer groups?

We offer a specially reduced admission fee of only £4.00 per person for pre booked groups of 15 or more people when one person pays for all group members, plus a free introductory talk about the Quaker Tapestry. Special refreshment options and prices for groups are available too.

How much time will be needed for a group visit?

To make the most of your visit, please allow your group at least one and a half hours to view the exhibition and associated features, plus additional time if you have booked refreshments or lunch. As well as the 77 panels of embroidery, visitors can enjoy additional displays, large screen films and interactive features, and use our free multi lingual audio guides to enhance their visit.

Is the exhibition accessible to everyone?

We offer a warm welcome to everyone at the Quaker Tapestry and the Exhibition Centre is professionally designed with facilities for all. We have step-free access via the Stramongate entrance to the building. The whole Exhibition Centre, including the shop and Tearooms, is easily accessible to wheelchair users. Does the Tapestry Tearooms cater for group visitors?

The Tapestry Tearooms welcomes group visitors and you and your group may like to round off your visit in the relaxing ambience of our five star rated Tearooms, which has a rapidly growing reputation for vegetarian cuisine and serves an eclectic mix of delicious food made from the freshest local ingredients. Alternatively, we can offer groups special refreshment packages

Light Refreshments £2.25pp A drink and home-made biscuits, choose from a cup of tea, herbal tea, fresh coffee or fruit juice.
Group Lunch £6.50pp Home-made soup with a selection of sandwiches and a choice of drink.
Afternoon Tea £3.95pp A delicious selection of small home-made cakes and scones and choice of drink.

Is there a coach drop off point nearby?

There is a convenient coach drop off point directly outside our Stramongate entrance, with parking for coaches situated a few minutes away at Blackhall Road. Directions to the Quaker Tapestry and a map can be found here.
